Welcome 2012

Here it is
Knocking at the door,
Need a few moments though
Before I explore.

Let me bid adieu
To this wonderful time;
The past year
Full of light and bells of chime.

As it ends,
And says goodbye;
I open the door
And in you fly.

But before you Captivate us all,
And become a cynosure
For the 365 days to fall,
So much so that;
We inscribe you
In every writing of ours.

I need a promise,
A sincere one;
That you will bring,
Good times to Everyone.

Come like a ray of Light,
And make our lives bright;
Dispel all darkness
Of Crime and narrow-mindedness.

Come like an ocean of Love,
And make us swim in it;
Wash off all the hatred
And signs of inhumanity.

Come like a sunflower,
That keeps blooming;
And teaches us how to follow
The path of Truth,
With its every turn towards
The eternal source- the sun.

Come like a baby,
With innocence and sparkle in its eyes;
Who just knows to love and be loved,
Where the treachery and deceit does not reside.

Bring us good times,
Cheerful times,
Happy moments and loads of fun;
Also bring some strength and sense,
So that we know how to help others
Who might be sad and alone.

As I welcome you,
I also promise;
I will try to be a person
Better than 2011 had known.

My 100 Days in Europe

Too excited I embarked upon this journey,
Crossing many hurdles that blocked the way;
But it came like a rising star,
When the sky was turning dark and gray.

I was too kiddish
Perhaps;
To think that the field
Would be a rosy bed.
But roses have thorns,
That come along;
Thorns that hurt
And made me wonder
"Was it worth?"

There were times
When i laughed in fun;
There were times
When i was down in dumps;
There were times
Of mesmerizing beauty;
There were times
Of hard duty.

Thus was the journey,
A bumpy ride;
Ups and Downs,
All along the drive.

But now;
When its about to end,
Approaching the destination
The road's gonna bend.

I feel it was
An eventful journey.
Not a bed of roses,
Neither a field that's morbid;
But a ground that has patches
Both bright and dark.

Good or bad
I Still can't say.
But ya,
It taught me a lot;
And my answer is
It was worth after all.

Spirals of Life

What is life
Is it only materialistic?
Is it only
Money n possessions?
I don't agree.

Ever felt sad,
Coz you had a reason to be happy
And resources to celebrate
But
No one to join your plate?

Happens many a times
How much ever we deny it,
But it is a truth well defined
That
Relations - are the essence of life.

How blessed are we all,
Gifted with relations
Even before we know it all.

We meet lots of people,
We talk to many,
We like some,
And few become own.

At times we are blinded
By the glow of one such relation,
And we don't even come to know
When and how
We move others out of vision.

Why is it so
Can we handle only one relation
At a time?
Is it like a metal rod in our hand,
That can have only one other end?

Probably not...

Relations are like a spiral,
A spiral circle of silken threads
And we - at the centre.

It is our choice
And we decide
Whom to place in which of the spirals
The distance from centre -
Symbolic
Of the distance from the heart.

But each of these spirals
Can hold many people.
And remember,
The strength of threads,
Is more closer to the centre.

Its the most wonderful aspect of life
That adds color and brightness,
And makes a lonely dot in the centre
Feel good by this togetherness.

But the dot also has a responsibility,
To keep all spirals at appropriate distance
By its force of gravity.
Gravity here -  is the behaviour,
The affection and the care
For all those
Who entered the maze of his life.

Don't do the mistake of
Counting only one relation
And neglecting the rest,
For it makes the spiral twisted
And might break the silken threads.

Handle with 'Care'
Is a word of caution,
Respect all relations
And your life will blossom.

Veil of Perception

I know its dark and cloudy
The winter clouds looming large
But is it the mist and fog
That is making things hazy?
Probably not.

Whatever I say
Is heard in a different way
Whatever I do
Is rejected without fail.

Sometimes I know
The water is muddy
And its foolish of me
To expect the image’s buddy.

Sometimes I know
There is lightning and thunder
And its foolish of me
To expect a clear answer.

Sometimes I know
There is storm in the sea
And its foolish of me
To play on the beach.
These are the times I know
There might be turbulence in the flow.

But there are sunny days
When the sky is clear,
There is silence around
And we so near.

I think this might be the moment
That can be enjoyed without argument.
But alas, I am proven wrong
And made to shudder even under the sun.

Now I realize
It wasn’t the fog or the mist
But - a veil.
A veil of perception,
Of antagonism and aversion
That blurs your vision
And makes your mind a prison.

But I have no intention
To go behind these bars.
I hope you break free from these,
And realize how pure my heart is.

Books to Life

In one of those inspiring classes at school,
Delving into the antonyms,
Amongst the hundreds that I learnt;
One was the pair
Love and Hatred,
And I believed it was true.

Today while sitting all by myself,
Reflecting over the essence of relations
I just had a doubt,
How can hatred be the opposite of love?

Love is a pious bond,
That makes someone really special,
You trust him,
Pour your heart out to him,
Hold his hand and
Help him cross all boundaries
Until he reaches the sacred place - your heart
And touches your soul.

It is true that
There are dark times,
When that special someone
Does not like this new place.
The silken threads of your love
Are mistaken as shackles
Which are hammered many a times
As he strives to break away.
Knowingly or unknowingly,
He hurts you in this act.

Even if this happens and
You are hurt,
Your heart is bleeding,
Sustaining your love
Has no meaning.

Still
You know...
However hard you try
However far you go;
You can only stop loving him,
But can never start hating him.

I wonder,
It took me all these years to figure out,
How meanings change from books to life.

Life and Kaleidoscope

I always wondered what is life,
Got many answers, but none so nice
As the one i just discovered.

Life is a kaleidoscope
Wonder how?

Kaleidoscope is colorful and so is life,
You rotate one to see various images and colors;
As the life unfolds, it spins you and shows you all.
Kaleidoscope is good to see and is bright,
But made of sharp glass and pebbles,
Which might hurt;
So are the rough patches in life where we get hurt.

The same glass that looks so nice
Might cut you and make you bleed.
Is it not the reality of life,
The ones who make you happy
Have the power to hurt and make your heart bleed?

Talk about the design principle
We say Kaleidoscope is based on Multiple Reflections.
Simply put - A ray of light being pushed away,
A ray that was not absorbed, not accepted, just shoved away
Many a times by many glass pieces.

This is the truth of life
It is designed in this way.
We are thrown away many a times by many people
For reasons good or bad.
We learn and improve ourselves, hoping we won't be kicked again.

But we forget,
There are as many reasons to be pushed,
As there are "angles" for a ray to be reflected.

Thus moves on the process,
We are pushed, we get hurt,
We see colors, we get happiness,
We remain captured in this circle of colors
Like a ray of light in the Kaleidoscope,
Until the Kaleidoscope falls and breaks.

Remember, it is brittle,
And so is life...

All is Not Lost
